Protective arrangements.-An earthing device for high-voltage alternating-current mains consists of a transformer having an earthed star-connected primary winding 12, 13, 14 and a seriesconnected secondary winding 15, 16, 17, the circuit of which contains an adjustable inductance 18 or capacity or both. An ohmic resistance may also be placed in the circuit of the secondary winding.
