Controlling-apparatus, arrangements of hand, foot, and transmission gear in conjunction with. -A braking device of the kind in which a running shaft or other moving part co-operates in the braking action is arranged so that a controlling lever is adapted to act direct on brakes on all the wheels without bringing into action the actuating agency of the shaft &c. In order to allow the independent operation of the rear brakes by a hand lever v, this lever is connected to a shaft s having two ratchet devices t mounted relatively to the brake connections as shown in Fig. 1.
