Abstract
192,649. Kail, W. W., Stacey, J. J., and Power, Ltd., J. F. April 20, 1922. Corner joints.-To prevent pilfering from a packing-case, a border frame 7 is provided on the inner face 4 of each of the end walls, and a metal strip 11 extending between the frame and the side walls and the bottom of the case is bent outwardly over the sides and inwardly over the lid 6, which is secured in position by nails passing through the free ends of the strip and into the top of the frame. The nails 12 securing the walls and bottom of the case are clinched over on the inside of the frame. The free ends of the strip may be sealed by a metal tab 13, Fig. 5, which is held between the end wall and frame and secured beneath a batten 15. A binding hoop 16 may be applied to each end of the case. In a modification, two metal strips are used, one down each side of the frame, and the bottom of the case is secured in the same manner as the lid.
