Abstract

Control apparatus for an indirectly controlled telecommunications system in which at least two exchanges are interconnected by means of a plurality of bidirectional communications channels and at least one central signal channel. The control apparatus provides an arrangement for centralised storage of criteria for determining further procedure to be effected by any one of a plurality of sub-control units TST-6 when a bidirectional communications channel ZK controlled by the relevant sub- control unit is simultaneously seized in both exchanges. In smaller systems a central channel sub-control unit TST-D controlling information transmission on the central signal channel or channels ZK may act as the criteria store. In larger systems where there are a plurality of groups of sub-control units controlling bidirectional channels, a superordinate group control unit may act as the criteria store for the associated group of sub- control units.
