Abstract
A lamination stack for an electrical component such as an arc-chute comprises laminations (1) secured at their edges to a carrier strip (2, 3) in mutually parallel spaced alignment and secured to the strip (2) by clamping between two spaced edge formations (1’a, 1’b) one of which edge formations (1’a or 1’b) is formed by a finger-like portion which is deformed towards the other edge formation (1’b or 1’a). The apparatus for manufacturing the stack receives laminations (1) in mutually parallel spaced alignment and feeds a carrier strip (2) to the securing position into transverse contact with the edge of a lamination (1) between the edge formations (1’a, 1’b). At the securing position, means (9a) is provided for deforming the finger-like portion (1’a or 1’b) towards the other edge formation (1’b or 1’a).
