Abstract

1338583 Telemetry SIEMENS AG 17 Dec 1970 [18 Dec 1969] 60079/70 Headings G4D D6Y D1D1 D1D9E and D6C1 A telemetry system for counting electric pulses from a remote source includes a stepping motor for receiving the pulses, a mechanical counter and a pulse generator both driven by the stepping motor, and an electronic counter connected to receive and count the pulses generated by the pulse generator. In an embodiment a number of pulse generating remote stations 21-24 are connected to a receiving station which includes a respective number of pulses receivers. Each receiver consists of a mechanical counter 29-32 and a pulse generator, which may comprise a rotating magnet and a Hall generator, connected by matching gears to the stepping motor. Each pulse generator feeds a respective electronic counter 33-36. The counters are periodically read-out either in series or in parallel to a single or multitrack, respectively, cassette tape unit 38. The counters may be reset when read-out and channel and time identification markings are generated by a device 39 for recording with the data. Two tapes may be employed so that one may be read while the other continues to record data. The device for reading the contents of the counters on to the tape may be a time switch, which may or may not be integral with the receiver, or may be a centralized control receiver. The pulse generating remote stations may be simple contact making devices, or devices similar to the receiver pulse generators (see above). The counters at the receiver may be KWh counters.
