Abstract
1414566 Cellular ceramics FOSECO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 16 April 1974 [11 May 1973] 22704/73 Heading C1J A cellular ceramic body has ceramic fibres bonded to its internal surfaces. The cellular body can be of Al 2 O 3 , Si 3 N 4 , cordierite, or Li 2 O-Al 2 O 3 -SiO 2 ; the fibres of Al 2 O 3 , SiO 2 , asbestos, alumino silicate or ZrO 2 ; and the bond Al hydrenychloride or Al 2 O 3 or SiO 2 sols. The fibres can be forced into the body, e.g. by pumping, vacuum or spraying in which case the surface of the body is made of the same electrostatic charge as the fibres so that the mutual repulsion allows the fibres to penetrate deeply into the body.
